Workshop: Role Profiling and Refining Skills Capability

This half-day workshop focuses on essential elements of role profiles such as, how to integrate skills and capabilities, how to encourage engagement, managing gaps and refining recruitment practices.

The workshop will bring attendees to a common level of knowledge of SFIA, the Skills Framework for the Information Age and then demonstrate the value of using a framework such as SFIA to deconstruct job descriptions and role profiles to allow more focused and effective resource allocation and development of career pathways.

When and Where

This workshop will be held on Wednesday 15th September, 1:30pm to 5pm.

Objectives

At the end of the workshop delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the value and application of professional capability development and resource management
  • Understand how to apply the SFIA Framework
  • Structure their own processes to take advantage of a skills-oriented approach.

Target Audience

  • Those with existing or prospective responsibility for the development of ICT staff
  • Project managers, all levels of management, and HR practitioners who are responsible for development of performance and capability within their organisation
  • Those interested in maximising the effective assignment of their people to projects and roles.

Approach

The workshop will consist of presentations, discussions and practical exercises based on real-world examples.

Trainer: Rob Sewell

Rob Sewell of ICDI NZ is currently Australasia’s only SFIA Accredited Consultant and the Training Partner for New Zealand. Rob has implemented SFIA in major UK organisations and trained people in its use in both NZ and Australia. Rob’s professional focus is on people and capability development following on from a thirty year career across almost every role in the ICT spectrum. Rob is an IT Certified Professional (ITCP) and a member of NZCS and works closely with the Society to further the professionalism of the ICT sector in New Zealand.

This workshop costs just $200+GST ($225 incl GST).
