Asia has two thirds of the world’s population and has largely come through The Great Recession unscathed.

With economies like Singapore predicting 13-15% GDP growth in 2010 and China and other countries in Asia roaring ahead what opportunity does it present for New Zealand ICT companies and how does one capitalise on the growing opportunity that exists for New Zealand in Asia.

The session will also examine some of the things to prepare for as well as look out for as you look to capitalize on the opportunity.

Gabe Rijpma is the Healthcare industry director in the Public Sector team in Microsoft Asia Pacific and has been since July, 2006.

Based in Singapore, Rijpma’s responsibilities include leading and defining the solution offerings and strategy for meeting the needs of Health and Human Services Customers across Asia Pacific. He also leads collaboration with Governments and industry partners to deliver solutions that help Health and Human Services organizations transform the way they do business.

Originally a native of Christchurch, New Zealand he has spent the last 12 years overseas with ten of those years with Microsoft in Sydney, Seattle and Singapore. A regular on New Zealand shores he is an avid supporter of bringing New Zealand innovation to Asia and driving New Zealand’s success there and he still calls New Zealand home.
