Great idea, but how do I grow it into a successful business?

There is no simple recipe to turn a good idea into successful business venture.

This talk will focus on the good and bad ideas that have been observed at Activate Technologies as it has grown into a successful Deloitte Fast 50 software company, outlining some tips, tricks and pitfalls along the way to building a successful business.

About Bruce Chamberlin

Bruce joined Activate in May 2007 as director and business development manager and is currently GM Asia Pacific focused particularly on the New Zealand and Australian part of the business.

Previously Bruce worked at Microsoft New Zealand for 14 years where he held various roles including principle consultant and technical pre-sales solution architect. He has been in the IT industry for over 20 years and previous to Microsoft worked for Digital Equipment Corporation and as the IT manager for the Canterbury Catchment Board.

Bruce is married to Nikki, and has 3 teenage daughters. Bruce owns a small farm in Clevedon and he and his wife run a boutique luxury accommodation business.

Bruce was educated at Auckland Grammar and Canterbury University and has a BE in Agricultural Engineering.
